Community security expert in security sector transformation, police reform, peacebuilding, DDR, small arms control and local development with the focus on such cross-cutting issues as gender, communications, community security and access to justice.
16 years of experience as a journalist, UN DDR officer, gender advisor, knowledge management specialist and strategic communications adviser working in conflict affected regions in Georgia, Ukraine, Middle East, Uganda and South Sudan.
Provided consultative services to both national and international bodies, namely European Union, Governments of Canada, Georgia and Ukraine, United Nations and Mercy Corps. Played a key role in a number of initiatives such as introduction of community policing concept in South Sudan and Ukraine, weapons marking and Child DDR for the Government of South Sudan, WEE in rural Georgia, police reform in Ukraine.
Worked closely with the MoIA and National Police of Ukraine, providing training, developing key documents including communications strategy, strategic framework, community policing workplans, research papers, etc. Stood at the forefront of creation of Ukrainian Association of Women in Law Enforcement, promoting 1325 agenda, overall gender mainstreaming within the MoIA system and combating GBV in Ukraine. As the Director of Programs at Georgia-based NGO “Generation i” leads efforts to combat disinformation, fake news, and propaganda during COVID-19 pandemic. As the member of the National Minorities Council at the Public Defender’s Office, “Generation i” promotes tolerance, community security, democratic principles and Euro-Atlantic integration across Georgia.
