Since 2017, EDSN has been generously supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). The project aims to create a network of prominent scholars, practitioners and other policy professionals who share an interest in the application of the concept of democratic security in the Eurasian region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This has never been so relevant as Russian troops threaten both the security and democratic development of Ukraine and other countries in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every year, a cohort of EDSN fellows is selected and receive a modest stipend to engage in research, discussion, and analysis of the Eurasian region through the lens of democratic security. In earlier years, fellows met at a physical conference in Tbilisi, but since the pandemic the fellowship has transitioned to being online, predominantly through a series of discussion meetings  \u2013 though we encourage fellows to collaborate and meet offline if opportunities arise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over time, EDSN has grown into a vibrant network of fellows and alumni that encompass the entire region. Alumni include academics, diplomats, political figures, civil society activists and policy analysts, amongst others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
